Default 2002 Montero LTD Need Help pleeeease!!!

Stuck in 4wd. In 2wd, center diff blinks, then I believe it is tryin to revert to safe mode because there is a whining/ grinding noise as well as a loss of power. Is this the montero trying to engage 4wd while driving in 2wd?? Also I connected diagnostic ports 1 and 4 to get the transfer code and it came back as 33. Are my transfer switches bad. There is no clearance on top of t-
Case how do I get to them????NEED to fix this myself any advice or instruction would be so very appreciated!!!
