Default 2002 Montero Oxygen Sensor Location

I have to 2002 Montero Limited (not the Sport). It has the code P0431. I am planning to try to fix it by using spark plug non-foulers. The code says it is the Bank 2. My question is, where exactly is it located. Any pics or diagram would be nice.

Also, which one is it below.

Montero, 3.5L, Front, Right - Part Number: MD365014
Montero, 3.5L, Front, Left - Part Number: MD369190
Montero, 3.5L, Rear, Left - Part Number: MD365016
Montero, 3.5L, Rear, Right - Part Number: MD369192

Any help would be nice.
Thanks in advance...

Driver side just after small cat converter and before the "Y" connection. If you crawl under the vehicle, you should see it just where the floor and firewall are.

Honestly, I think they are all the same sensors. They all have the same plug and same pigtail.

Karribbean,

My understanding is The only difference in sensors is the length of the wires, otherwise they are the same. I ran into this on my 1998 Montero Sport.

Very possible. Sorry, but can't confirm this 100%

Please take a look at the pic I just posted. Just to confirm that this is what you are talking about.

Nope, this is Bank 1 Sensor 2 (this is exhaust coming off the passenger side). The Bank 2 sensor 2 will be in a similar spot, a little to the left of the Y tucked in right next to transmission and engine mating spot. You are almost there

Yes, that is the post or downstream bank 2 sensor. I am doing the same thing you are going to try with the non-foul adapters for my P0421 but mine is the other side (bank1). Do notice if you are going to replace the sensor, that the wire length is a little different between the two. Get the longer wired one to be safe. Your bank 2 sensor is going to be a bear to get to. I am hoping we both have enough room to install the non-foulers. It's pretty tight up there. Otherwise the pre-cats are nearly impossible to find in California because of the compact size. Thanks Mitsubishi for making it so difficult on us to service these!
