Default 2002 Montero Sport Fuse access

I'm attempting to switch out the CD player/radio in my montero sport. I hooked the new one up, and no power. Hooked the old one back up and no power. I'm hoping its a blown fuse. The manual indicates the fuse box is in the passenger compartment (left of the steering wheel). How do I go about getting to the fuse box? Do I have to dismantle the paneling or am I missing something?
Also, if it isn't a fuse problem, what else could be causing the loss of power to the radio?
Thanks

Nevermind, I located the fuse box. Fuse is fine. So I'm not sure why there is no power to the radio.
