Cool 2004 mitsubishi montero sound system upgrade

So my sub on my 2004 mitsubishi montero limited was blown and i decided i want to do a full system upgrade for audio. But im a bit confused where to start and was hoping i can post on here for help along the way. The problem im stuck at now is the stock amp. I cant find any information on it. I know its model number MR979434 but cant find the channels, watts, or ohms of the system. Same with the sub all i know is that its 8 inches. I do have the infinity sound. My questions are would someone be able to tell me the info on the amp and sub? Also should it be upgraded with the speakers or is it a good amount of power for a decent sound system? Im not going for anything crazy. Just some better sound. Thanks so much!

Bump.... was wondering about this myself. I have a manual being shipped to me now, maybe it will be in there.

Replace the sub and amp as I recently did the same for mine. The amp is crap and I believe the total system was 315 watts? So not sure if that meant the output power of the Amp or what not. Crutchfield can help you pick out a decent sub and amp to replace it and I believe the Pioneer website even gives you the depth of the sub area to find an 8" that drops in nicely.

Thanks so much that link helped a lot. Also another question i had was concerning the tweeters. Does the montero have a built in crossover into the amp? Like on the door they are separate but theres no tweeter input on the amp. I wanted to upgrade them but i dont know what wires to use for the aftermarket crossover. If anyone has done this please i would appreciate the input on what wires were used and how you wired your component speakers with tweeters and crossover in the front.
