I'd like to know if anyone else is having fuel pump issues with 2004 montero XLS . My wife's monty on its second pump ? >100 k miles

Thats certainly not common.

Ive replaced exactly one fuel pump on any mitsu in the last 6 years (although it was a montero). And ive worked on about 15000 mitsus..

Thank you for responding . Any Idea's on what may be killing the pumps ? Any help is better than paying $600 plus for a pump . Dealer in Saipan's price for pump.

havent a clue as to why they would be failing.
As I said, that is NOT common on any mitsubishi product.

maybe the fuel filter's not exactly doing its job and the pumps are taking in debris? I'm just giving it my best shot here
