I have a 90 Montero 3.0L. The problem is in the ignition. I can put the ignition switch in the run position, without starting the truck, and there is ignition spark coming through the coil wire to the cap constantly. It is a very rapid fire spark. I had the ignition module checked and it tested fine. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

 

hello! sounds like the electrical part of the ignition switch is bad. sending the start signal at the wrong time. those switches are not very expensive. mabey even find a used one at a wrecking yard to test and see. good luck! greg...
