Just replaced timing belt on vehicle and also had heads redone, however when I got everything put back together and started it, it ran for about a min. and then just died!! Engine turns over but doesnt seem to be firing for some reason!?! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Been without a car for over a month now and I really need 2 figure out what is going on with it!! 95 Montero LS 3.0L 24 valve

Need to do the basics.

Check for spark. Check for fuel. Check for engine computer codes.

With the amount of recent work that was done, it could be anything at this point. As advised, it's best to go back to the basics as far as checking for spark, fuel, compression, etc. Good Luck!!

Thanks alot for the info! I read in another discussion that someone had posted about the same thing and someone had replied and said to disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the computer. It said that on mitsubishis for some reason when the battery is disconnected for a period of time the cpu needs to reprogram itself and recognize new parts or parts that I had removed then put back in place! Sound familiar to anyone? That would b great if that was the only problem!!

There are a few values that are learned by the PCM such as idle adaptation and fuel trim, etc. But NOTHING that will prevent startup of your engine. After all, how can it memorize or adjust to a new value if it won't run. I think you might be over thinking this one- check the basics and work from there. Good Luck!

Check for faulty Crank position sensor or Cam position sensor.

Check for codes.
