I recently bought a 98 Montero Sport LS, the check engine light came on and I had it checked it stated it was the EGR Valve. We replaced the EGR Valve and it is still chugging and the light is still on, any suggestions?

 

My guess would be a crank possession sensor...
You can disconnect your battery for about 5 min. start up and drive, see what happens again, then have them do a scan at the auto parts store..

Reset the ECU by removing the negative terminal and try again, then rescan if a code pops up.
