I have a 94SR, check out 4crawler.com for custom body lifts, I am getting one sometime soon when I also get the money for new tires. My friend used a Hi-Lift Jack to raise the montero high enough, the procedure is a pain in the ***. It is easy to do but takes a long time. you will need to lift the body, unscrew the stock body mounts, place the new mounts in place and replace the old bolts, then lower it. This happens between 8 and 12 times depending on the length of the body. you will probably be 10 or 12 mounts. Once you order the package directions should come with it, I've heard the gentleman that distributes them is very personable, I'm sure you can give him a call to get some definitive directions. I hope this helped.
yea that is what i expected as far as replacing the bolts and putting in the new body mounts....Im just not sure if there are any componets in the car that i need to extend, for example steering shaft or gear shifters, and even the brake lines. Also i need to learn how to raise the bumpers after I do the lift.....and i dont have acess to a welder or anthything like that. anyways thanks for the info!!
you can do it all without raising anything else. The Transfer case and transmission are mounted to the frame, so the ***** will be slightly offset but it is all good. My friend that has already done it got the 2 inch lift and I was able to drive it. The T-Case **** and the Transmission **** seem to be sunk but still work, but you don't NEED to adjust any of these things. Let me look into the steering shaft, i believe he may have modified that but I don't recall the entire procedure.
Most of the stuff is optional, You CAN raise the bumpers, they will be offset with the lift, The gentleman that makes the lifts also offers accessories to lift everything else, no welder necessary at all though.
