spray a little WD-40 on the inside and keep working it. It will come out. There is nothing else holding it, they are just tight. While you are doing this, check to make sure you are not pulling the timing gear with it.

I agree with HunterD.

Post 121 of this thread shows the loose pulley and the revised crank bolt. From what I gather, the old style long bolt was susceptible to breakage leaving you SOL.

I GOT IT OFF!!!!!!! i finally got it off!!! lol sorry but that thing was increasibly stubborn and works cant describe how happy i am now that that parts over with. that wd40 really did help alot, thanks alot!!! that was awesome!!! lol. only thing is, i think a gear came off with it, ill take a pic and try to post it to show you. so what happens if the gear did come off with it anyway? also, im aiming to change the camshaft seals so i have to take those cam gears off too, so another question ive been wondering is if i have to hold the cam gear still while loosening the bolt? if theres any chance that i might damage the engine while doing this job? any thing i need to be carefull about while doing this?

The crank timing gear is keyed to the crank and there is a pin between it and the pulley.

Glad you got it off. If timing gear came off together with the crank pulley, its not a big deal. WD-40 the spot where they are mated let it soak and then try to separate them. You'll need two of them separated in order to time the engine correctly anyway. The only thing that is holding two of them together is a (probably rusty) shear pin. You can gently rotate timing gear on the crank pulley. It will rotate off center around the pin until they separate. I believe the pin is supposed to stay with the timing gear (crank pulley will have a hole to mate to).
You do need to hold the cam gears while loosening and tightening cam gear bolts. You probably can rent a timing belt kit from AutoZone. It should include the holder. Sounds like you doing well and you have a good attitude toward it. Keep it up. Good luck.
