Default Door ajar issues

2000 Mitsu Monty
Door starting acting up around a year ago and I sprayed a little lithium in he door catch itself and the problem went away. However, recently the door ajar light seems to have came back on as well as the dome lights. Im not sure but I think it might be playing a roll with my alarm as well cause it seems that maybe with the ajar light being on the alarm my possibly not be arming right? Dont know.

So, does anyone know or have experienced this issue before or know a way to fish this? Thank you.

Perhaps it is the switch rather than the door lock?

The switch in the door frame that is activated when the door is open. Look around the door frame it is usually a small button switch often covered by a rubber protective seal. It can be shorting out and that is why you have false readings for "door ajar".

Where would the switch be located for the rear cargo door. All the other switches are ok but I can't find that one even in the service manual.. What gives.. Maybe a mercury switch inside of the door it'self... strange.

I see that there are no door ajar switches in the rear cargo door. Nor the hood, I check all of the 4 remaining and seem to be in good working order. Check this out.. when I slam the door that door ajar light goes off for a sec then right back on.. go figure so I guess I have a short somewhere along the line .... sheeshhh mind f**k here..
