Hi, I'm hopping to find an answer here. I'm replacing the engine of 02 Montero Sport with 3.0 (2wd). I'm on a budget and need to look around for the cheapest engine. What engines are compatible with my montero sport without doing extra conversion stuff? i don't mind changing valve covers and manifolds but anything more may be too much for me.

junk yards said only 02 and 03 montero sport 3.0. but what about other years and 3.5? And does it have to be from a sport? I found someone with a 3.5 cheap...
