engine swap?

engine swap?
hey there guys, i noticed that my 3.0L is way under powered for its size and took notice of the 3.5L also offered in the montero family. I have a 98 montero sport, what do you think of an 3.0L engine to the 3.5L?
I'm adding a short ram intake to the 3.0L to see what can be done with bolt-ons and such. I'm just not sure if the 3.5 would be able to fit in the montero sport or if proper connections would be missing.
and most importantly, would it be worth it?
any takes on this or if a post was already started on this?

Have you driven a 3.5L MS yet? I've owned both and except for some specific circumstances, like towing or passing on the highway, I don't think there is a huge difference between them.
I think a swap would be a can of worms. You'd need to swap the gearbox and transfer case too. Electronics are different. The 3.5 has the Invecs transmission so all the electronics for it are different.
If you're really set on a 3.5, probably best to sell the 3.0 and buy a used 3.5. A functional swap would probably cost more than the purchase of a decent, low mileage 3.5 equipped MS.
