I need help bypassing the neutral safety switch!
I have a 2001 mitsubishi montero limited and it had been sitting for a while because I couldn't get the nuetral safety switch adjusted correctly. A couple months ago I managed i adjust it so that start it in park with some finesse and always in nuetral. About 2 weeks ago the nuetral saftey switch stopped working all together. No way I adjusted it could I get it to start consistently and go into gear. I have tried two different switches, one oem and one cheap one. Neither seem to work, but any video you watch is just people putting the new one on and it works without issue. I don't think there is any way to get the switch working, so I'm trying to work out a way to bypass the switch. I'm trying to wire it to a button that tells the car that it's safe to start no matter what gear it's in. I need to know what wires on the neutral safety switch to wire together bypass it, or if anyone has another permanent way to get around the switch.
