I have a 2002 Montero Sport with about 83K miles. The A/C usually works fine but lately I've been having some issues when starting the vehicle. Sometimes the A/C will come on immediately, sometimes it won't come on until quite a while after the vehicle starts. I've had the A/C system checked by my mechanic but he can't find anything wrong. Has anyone else had this problem? It seems like it might be more of an electrical issue.

 

Make sure the a/c system is fully charged also check the a/c cut off switch, when they go bad it will not let the a/c clutch engage.

 

Thanks for the reply. The A/C system is fully charged. Can you tell me where the A/C cutoff switch is located? Is it easily replaceable?
