had my younger brother help me with a job today and it went terribly bad. he broke the screws that attach the oil pan to the engine. half came out half stayed in...... i got srewed. so any ideas... do i just replace the whole engine? please help

Calm down there are several ways to remove the screws. You can try to get ahold of the stubs and twist them out or you can get a tap and die set and remove the stubs with that.

This should be enough info to get you started.

what part of texas?
Here is something to think about.... when you tighten a bolt down it gets tight because the head of the bolt wil not allow it to go in any more. The chances of the bolt being seated all the way in are slim. with that said. sometimes you can get some Vise grips and clamp down on them then twist out. if not. drill and look for an easy out. not hard at all.

al in houston,
brownsville, tx to be exact. yeah i gotta look closer. i was just distraught at the moment, but i gotta take a closer look. i also found metal bits in the pan along with a bolt and nut. so gotta fix something else
