Leave crankshaft pulley for replacing timing Belt?
I read somewhere that we don’t have to take off the crankshaft pulley to replace timing belt and water pump. Just need to take off the bottom cover and there is enough room to replace the belt... Can anybody confirm this? This is for 2000 MS.

While you have the crank pulley off, you should upgrade to the new style crank pulley bolt. From what I can gather, the old style can fail (snap off in the crank) and then you have real problems.

Thank you. So, I just took off the camshaft pulley, timing belt and faulty water pump. I just looked inside and the back of the water pump, but I don’t see the Oring. I thought there was a oring and I suppose to replace with new one when we change the water pump?!
