Hello all

I am new to this forum, and I am also a owner of a Mitsubishi Montero Limited 2003 (Third generation according to wikipedia)

From what I have read in the internet and also in my user's manual, starting 2003 "Traction Control" (M-ATC) is a standard feature in the Montero Limited. Mine does not have the switch to enable/disable such feature.

Is there a way to tell if indeed I have such option. If not, is it possible to retrofit such option to my SUV?

Many thanks in advance,

Joel
For what I see Your montero is either a 01 or 02 montero, thats the reason why you don't have the standard TC switch on the truck. May be in Mexico monteros are one year behind than the U.S. montys I don't know. But I can see square fog lights, front grill, and rims found in 01 and 02 monteros in the us, in the 03 thru 06 fog lights are small andround.

That sucks to hear about Renton in Seattle. I actually think I bought parts from them thru internet sales. Either that, or I remember a bunch of diagrams and other things available on the web...

(urs is 4th, 1st gen was the boxy one, second they rounded the design a bit, 3rd (my ex montero before death by fire hydrant) had many extra features and more sporty design, 4th yours, and 5th is the european market....it is the sex )
Just to clarify... Actually his is a Gen III. Even Mitsu Motors USA considers it a Gen III.
In the US... Gen I (boxy) was available from 85-91, Gen II (rounded) was available from 92-2000, & Gen III (Unibody) was 2001+.

We never got the Gen IV's which are only available overseas since Mitsu decided to stop bringing them in back in 2005/6 (I don't remember exactly).

There is a Gen II.5 from 97-2000 with bulged fenders but this was a minor design change unlike the 01 model which was a complete redisign.

i just thought it was easier to call it the 3rd geni had one and i loved it, then i totaled it so i was pissed off, and they stopped bringin them because im guessin bad sales or bad MPG, common sense guess
