Call another dealer and ask them the price. In any case $200 usually only gets you a lightbulb and happy face sticker from a dealer. $200 for a brushguard sounds like a good deal. Make sure it has the install kit if one is needed.

That's a decent price for one. I bought a Manik guard for my 1990 for about 350.

IMHO don't rely on your brush guard for anything but the MOST Superficial protection. It's purely cosmetic at best and in a real accident will actual create more damage rather than protect your car.

Without knowing anything, when was the last time a dealer had the best price on anything? This offer doesn't pass the smell test, IMHO.

Then again, my beast came with the grillguard already attached, so I could be 180° off. As the Romans used to say, "Caveat Emptor."

The dealer brush guard is super thin and nothing more than show and has no go. It looks good but provides nothing except maybe a place to mount your offroad lights.

Checking nationwide craigslist there are currently 3 Montero brush guard ads. Unfortunately none for the early models. In case anyone else is intersted they can be found on the following craigslist sites:

Bakersfield CA: Montero Sport - $100
Worcester MA: Montero Sport - $175
Sacramento CA: 2001-2002 Full Size - $300 - but a really stout looking unit.
