Default Montero Shocks

I bought a 01 Montero. Really clean. Took it off road but it was making noise like crazy. (suspension) took to the mechanic and he said shocks are old. He changed them but i still have problem. even on the freeway,if the road is a bit rough, i get to hear it all. Took it back and went for a test drive with mechanic. He said a bunch of bs like the suspension is fine, its just that the truck is older and its the dashboard and interior. Anyone has had similar experience?

I have a 2002 Montero with only 70k miles on it. I LOVE this car, but the dash rattles over any rough terrain. I've also considered having the shocks changed to soften the ride a bit, but obviously this didn't help your case. Have you been able to pinpoint the location of any of the rattle locations? I know my back door was a big source as well as the glove box area.
