Ok Guys, So I have an 02 montero sport es (all stock) I've noticed the car will not start after sitting all night. When I turn the key it sounds like the battery is dead. But if you try it maybe 2-3 times it magically cranks up. for the rest of the day the car is perfect. it only does this if it sits over night. Has anyone delt with this problem or have any ideas as to what the problem might be.

(new timeing belt, water pump, valve cover gasket, thermostat, spark plugs and wirers)

 

Sounds simple, but take a hard look at your battery connections and terminals. I found Montero's to be extremely picky on the amount of corrosion they'll handle (I love them despite this...). Take off everything (pos, neg, and accessory connections), sand it down shiny then connect it all back up. After it's all back on, apply a coat of Vaseline...

Might work, might not, but it's a cheap fix if corrosion is the culprit....
