One common reason for a car not starting is that the battery is dead. If you turn the ignition and you hear a clicking noise, or you notice that the dashboard is not lighting up, your Montero's battery is likely dead. Since, you replaced the battery, check the battery terminals and connections and make sure that they are good. The absence of fuel could be the cause of a no-start engine. Put a few gallons of gas in the fuel tank. Inspect the fuel filter and the fuel pump. If either component is faulty, it could decrease the amount of gas sent to the engine. Look under the vehicle for fuel spots that could indicate a fuel leak. Finally, inspect the spark plugs. The spark plugs should appear clean. Make sure the spark plugs are securely connected with no worn tips. Test the spark plugs if they appear damaged.
