Air condition of Pajero (2015) was working excellent for cooling. Last week, after 2 hours of ride in the hot weather, AC started not to cool and eventually started to blow warm air, in the end stopped even blowing air. Recently in auto A/C mode, it increases to five bars only, not more than this, but in manual control I can increase it to more levels. Coolant pressure is fine. Service center cleaned the evaporator but the problem is going on. Cooling and air blow is getting weaker after some time. What can be the possible cause? Thanks in advance.

You might have an ssue with AC clutch or the compressor itself.

 

Thanks a lot... Today I had another observation. After driving some time, when switched to auto mode of cooling, it starts with six bars, later decreases to five, than four. Airflow from the ducts are low. Not cooling properly. Airflow gets lower during the time. Condenser and evaporator is clean. Coolant pressure is normal. Can it be switching/relay/or thermostat problem.

Regarding the airflow - do you have an in cab air filter? Check to see if it's all clogged up

 

Hi, I have the same problem with my Pajero Sport 2015 as Jozdalga describes. Took the car to the Mitsubishi dealer and they checked the AC out and said nothing was wrong with it.
Did you manage to solve the issue Jozdalga? If so, please share the solution!

The symptoms sound exactly like the evaporator coils are icing up and blocking air flow. This happened on another car of mine - only during long runs in hot weather. Not sure where it would be on our vehicles, but there should be a sensor behind the evaporator that cycles the compressor on and off to avoid icing.

Rather than dig for the sensor, it was suggested on the forum for my other car to set the cabin temperature setting just one notch below coldest, to keep the compressor from running as often - and this seems to have cured the problem for me.
