Default A question fROM a new Montero limited 2004 owner

Hi everyone!

I got a 2004 limited yesterday and I am very happy about it!

The only problem I having is the right side of the 2H light is not working...

Does anyone know how to fix it?

Thank you so much!!!

Are you talking about one of the lights on the rear wheel indicator? If so, it is most likely a burnt out bulb. Replacement part number is MR444536. You have to pull the instrument cluster to replace them.

I bought MR444536 at local mitsubishi dealer...

seems it is no fit in monitor limited 2004 usa version...

MR444536 is bigger..and it fit for "doors light".

4x4 wheels indicator is using smaller light bulb.

Bummer. On the '01-'03 smaller bulbs are used for shifter indicator, while larger ones are for doors and 4wd indicators. Once you get the right bulbs, post the part number here.

The heated seat light (inside the switch tiny little bulb the size of the tip of a pen) burned out on my Mazda 3.. I just went to the parts counter at my dealer and told them which light it was and they looked it up in their book, grabbed the part and 11 bucks later I was on my way to fixville population me.

I wish it was that easy. I've deat with trying to get proper bulb for my Montero and for an older BMW too from the parts stores. As you said - you go to the parts store tell them EXACTLY what you are looking for and they don't have a clue what you are talking about or give you a wrong bulb. Montero bulbs (at least the ones in the instrument cluster) have special housing. I've tried to swap the "replacement" bulbs from parts store with the one inside the housing. Never worked. Mitsu bulbs are glued in there or something. It's almost not worth the trouble of going that route. What i did learn is that some of the bulbs should cross reference to the Mopar bulbs. This is due to the fact that Mitsubishi sold Raider pickup which was built by Chrysler for them. Apparently some of the Mopar bulbs that fit Raider cluster also fit Montero.

I didn't deal with a parts store, I dealt with the parts counter at the dealership and I made them tell me what part I needed, not asked for a part number.

It was a very specialty bulb in a special case thing. I didn't have to take anything apart to try and make the bulb go into the right plastic bracket thing it was a complete unit and it was plug and play.
