Recurring camshaft seal leak
All,
2001 Montero Sport with the 3.0L V6 and 210k miles. About 2 years ago I lost an alternator due to the dreaded passenger side cam shaft seal leak. I change the seal, timing belt, valve cover gaskets, plugs, the works. Since then , I've had that same leak about every six months. Last time I even installed a "sleeve" with the seal. I know find myself with another leak.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, using under-spec parts (Autozone), or something else. I'm careful to lube up the seal with clean oil prior to installing, haven't gouged the surface (there was wear, hence the sleeve). This is getting old.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

I know very little, ....but I would try using some red silicone on the application.
Allow it to semi-cure before installing, and 24hr before firing up the motor.
Just my 2 cents worth.
edit: If this some how continues... maybe make a small shield to cover over the alternator.
