Mitsubishi Montero & Montero Sport This sport utility vehicle offers more size than the other Mitsubishi SUVs, but manages to keep a sporty look and comfortable feel, unlike many larger SUVs.

Thanks Winshawn The tranny fluid is still pretty red, probably already done before I purchased it, but you are very correct about changing the fluid in the tranny. It is very important!

I intend to tow one of those pop-up camper types - bout 3,500 - 4,000 lbs. The fluid compatability info is much appreciated Winshawn.

Please see follow-up to this thread under "Dear Mechanic, please remember to tighten the lug nuts". Your analysis and comments would be valued there too.

Thanks Again.

The SP III fluid is a very pale red. If you put a drop of new fluid on a white paper towel you can hardly see any color. Even after flushing 10 quarts in my tranny, the fluid still show light brown on the paper towel. Take a close look at the fluid color on a paper towel, is it red or brown?

Change that coolant.
