Saving Ole Faithful
I have been the sole owner of a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. It has well over 260000 miles, odometer stopped at about 226000, and wakes up every so often. I've kept it running since I got it with 2 miles fresh off the lot, only replacing alternator, battery, and starter, all else is original. Great Vehicle, and I would like to save it.......(Tear Drop!!!!)
The problem I'm having is that with a new battery, battery cables, alternator, and starter, it wont start. I can hear the starter "humming"/"spinning", but the engine will not turn over. I am hoping that it is something relative simple like a relay/fuse or something. I plan on taking it in for a diagnostics check to tell me """"EVERYTHING""""That is work with it, but if anyone wishes to chime in, all help is very much welcomed! HELP!!!!!!

Get a short wire and try shorting the starter solenoid contacts and see if that will engage it. I had a vehicle with that exact same problem, and that was a temporary fix. Then if it works you know you'll need a new solenoid. Sounds like a great vehicle you've got yourself there; got to keep her going...
