I put this together to help me get the sensors right.
Hopefully this will help anyone looking for answers to this is you are buy NON OEM sensors.
NOTE: some of the kits come with 2 browns and a white. So be aware of that when ordering.
If this is incorrect some one LMK.
THIS IS MY FIRST ATTEMPT at this.

ebay sells alot of them. I think i paid $40 shipped. for all 5.
I couldn't find one post that had the answer to what I was looking for so I had to put something together. I basically did this so I could print it and have it out there with me. when I installed them.

Update.
light is still blinking but I've realized I'm locked in 4x4.
once I started googling LOCKED in 4X4 info started pushing me to the front Dif. sensor.
I have changed all 5 sensors on the transfer case and the 2 solenoid valves by the air box.
when I disconnect the hoses can here is the air sound. translation = no leaks in the line.
I'm really hoping this front DIF sensor will do the trick.

I have started looking up Pajero for information. There is a lot more info on that name than just Montero.
This new information is pointing me to the the actuator shaft being stuck.
Now whether it's
-stuck due to lack of use
-dirty(It's a city truck so it shouldn't be filled with mud)
-the actuator being bad.
Time will tell( I hope)
*** I don't thing its a vacuum leak as I can hear the "pssssh" sound when I disconnect the hoses...

It was low on dif. oil so I added some to top it off. made no difference.
I should add It was running just fine in 2wd until I changed the timing belt and was cleaning up the built up oil/ sludge from all the seal leaks.
like I said before I was trying the eBay sensors from china so IDK if they work or not. so I'm going with OEM since I found them in UK for $90 shipped.
versus he 5 sensors are about $350 at the dealer.
found them on US eBay for $290.
Now I'll know the 5 NEW OEM parts wont be the issue and can focus on the other things if this doesn't fix it.
should be here first of the year.
