Figured since this thread has been raised from the dead, I'd mention that my sport has 230K miles on the original transmission (Aisin 30-43LE) I have been using Oreilly brand Global Multi-Vehicle ATF for the last 77K miles and have seen no ill effects. However please note that this information "ONLY" applies to this model transmission (Aisin 30-43LE) and I would still recommend only factory fluid (Mitsubishi Diamond SPIII) in 99-04 model sports.

Default SP III compatible hyundai atf?

12.12 20
My understanding is some hyundai auto trans use the same or compatible ATF fluids with sp3 diamond etc. 1- Does anyone know what model vehicle hyundai has with those transmissions? 2-Does anyone know the name of their compatible atf is . I prefer to keep it simple and not get into any mitsubiti sp3 compatability conversations with them.
12.14.20
I went to Hyundai where I used to get my spIII but found they no longer carry it. I asked them to give me what ever oil they use in their cars that have or had "mitsubiti" trans. The fluid was interchangable, I think I recall ,from this forum a few years ago. Well I got the ole "Idont know anything about that. Thats why the 1st question above this entry. If Joel is on this forum,he might know Ill Ill try locating which forum he is on or was on,as I havent checked this or any other forums in a couple years.
I went to chrysler and got me 1 qt Mopar ATF+4 to top, periodically , a leak from a bad washer midway on the AtF filler tube. Does anyone have any tips on where I can order my own spIII ? Ill assume amazon ?

So, just so I dont mis understand you:, was that entire trans filled up with global and since then you have put on 77k? If so then I will consider using it too. Oh,one more thing,..Is the Asin in your sport the one that is original for it ? Is it a 3.0 or 3.5 L and 2 or 4wd ? Trying to locate sp3,but best Ive found is to locate the closest mitsu service center. The nearest place that has them is 100 miles. Anyone gotten it from amazon or other?

Original AISIN transmission, 3.0L engine, 2WD. I performed a drain and fill when I first got it and then another drain and fill about 10K ago when I changed the AT filter. So it's safe to say the fluid is fully replaced now. No issues in sight.

This is the stuff I've been using:
