Im looking at a used monterosport 01 awd 4x4.3.0 It has 126K miles.

Im concerned that the oil on the oil pan is not from the gasket of the pan,but may be from some seal in front of the pan
Oil is all over it with a drop virtiually hanging from most or all the bolts around the perimiter of the pan. In front of the pan I cannot see well as I didnt have it lifted and i was sandwiched tight under the car without a flashlight.

If its a seal then i can call around and find out what kind of cost on its repair before going any further .

Otherwise its pretty good shape,but horn doesnt work,moon roof missing the pull shade

 

14 months later: Thought id add the following.
I found its from a cracked or broken plastic o ring that joins the "2 part" dipstick tube together about half way of its length. It only amounts to an ounce every 500-1000 miles Im estimating. Drips off the pan/bolts (which dont leak)
