WOW! Snow!
well its snowed and I drove around with the montero on 4h at first! and I can say that I am very satisfied, first I tried backing out on just 2wheel and I cant back out of the driveway because it was slippery then put it in 4h then tat tat tat, traction control kicked in and was out no problem, tried braking abruptly and slid then abs kicked in, nice, tried 4Hloc and drove up and down steep roads overtaking slipping cars, suvs and whatnot. I love my Montero!

haha gotta love four wheel drive cars or in your case SUV. Just try not to showboat to much. I had an all wheel drive Subaru and I thought I was hot **** and was blowing donuts in a parking lot at hit a curba bent my lower control arm. That was a $ 100 mistake that I will never do again.

RE: WOW! Snow!
Believe it or not we had snow this past weekend in San Diego. The level dropped to 3500'. We had about 8" on Palomar mountain and took the kids sledding. The CHP had the paved roads blocked, but it did not stop the Monty from going up the 4x4 route.

RE: WOW! Snow!
agreed - if you look closely at the tree trunks and brown evergreens you will see the fire damage from all the fires this fall. Those trees are tough as nails. Everyone is concerned about them, but the earth is robust and that forest isnt going anywhere - frankly, man should have controlled burned that place years ago. The scariest part of driving up there is the potential for landslide at the lower elevations with all the rain.
