Default '07 xls - ASC off

'07 xls 4WD 23,000 miles

info screen diplaying "service required - ASC off "

this is not being displayed with the "check engine" light.

displays right after start up. ASC button is not being pushed.

looked in all diagrams to see if ASC had its own fuse ,could not locate a fuse related to it.

dis-connected battery , then re-connected. "service required" popped right back up after re-starting.

Anyone have any suggestions ( besides the obvious "take it to the dealer" ) i'm sure i will end up doing that when time allows.........probem is , that may not be for a couple of weeks.

if its anything like other automakers it will continue to come on until you take it to a service department and they actually reset the warning in the computer

i am sure i will end up taking into dealer service when i can free up the time.

i was just hoping that someone might know what the ASC in "linked" to.........

.......so i could look for a loose connector , broken wire , bad relay , or blown fuse ! !

I check the shop manual, There are a lot of components that make up the ASC system, I would check the following fusible links and fuses.
Fusible link: 26, 27, 33, 34
Fuses:2, 5, 9, 12, 30

i figured it would be a complicated system.

so far i have only been able to pull the activation button an check it. (it is o.k. )

thank you for the information on the fuses and links.

Speaking of engines, anybody knows what kind of "belt" is used by the CVT mated with 2.4 engine. Is it a rubber/steel belt like the one developed by Nissan/Subaru or is it a pure steel belt like the Multitronic developed by Audi??

..dealership replaced the angular velocity sensor today.

it did NOT solve the problem.

now they need to go back to "poking and probing" to find out why my outty thinks the ASC is off.
