The full-size wheel will stick out more under the rear bumper but at least with a tow hitch fitted it should actually hide most of it.

Should be able to pickup the car on Friday so will post photos if people are interested.

Here is the photo of the back of the car. The full size spare sits down a fair bit lower and you can see the tow hitch they fitted. I am actually amazed they managed to completely hide the tow bar, all the other ones I have seen have the bar sitting underneath the bumper.

The tire sits much lower indeed. What size is it the 16inch 215 or the 18inch 225 ? For the hitch first time I see it install that way mine sits just under the bumper because of the spare tire.

The wheels are 16 inch ones, factory standard.

Yeah, I will be taking off the spare later today to see exactly how they have done the hitch.

I am in Perth, WA, same as you. The hitch was fitted by the dealer. I saw lots of different hitches online and think this one looks 100x better than the others.

I would certainly recommend it.

One thing I did on the weekend was make a cut-out in the foam insert that sits under the boot floor. The towball tongue, when placed on its side, was too tall to fit on top of the insert. So I made a nice cut-out to fit it in there snugly, which also stops it sliding around.

I assume you are referring to the hitch? It is the genuine Mitsubishi one that is available here in Australia.
