Default 09 footlights

I have an 09 v6. When I fold up the back seats there are lights under them to light the cargo area. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get them to turn on. It says there there in the owners manual, but not how they work.

As far as I know, they only turn on when you release the back seats to fold them, like if someone was sitting in the third row, and you folded the middle row to let them out, the light would come on so they could see where they were stepping. I don't think that there is any other way to turn them on...

yup.
smiley is right.

Also for when you are folding the middle seat back down the people in the back row can see so they do not get there feet smashed in it.

They are just for safety.

If you want to turn them on you need to pull the cord on the seat when they are folded the same one that you use to unlock the seat to put them back down this will turn them on again for a few second.

Thanks guys, they do in fact come on only when you pull the straps. I always run with my middle row up because I have no kids and no passengers and I never seen them come on. It would have been nice to have them a little bigger and come on with the dome light too to help light the cargo area.
