Default 2009 Mud flaps?

Back ones went on without any problems. Front ones look like they were designed for a different level of trim other then 2009 Outlander XLS(black side air dam)? I tried several times but they just don't line up? The part numbers are correct. Was there some sort of change to the plastic "running board/fairing" that is on the ES or LS that is different from the XLS? Are Canadian vehicles different in some way? My box says MZ380379EX.

Do you have the new side air dam? They were made for the '08 SE (Special Edition) but I did hear that they were going to put them on some XLS's going forward as well.

Look at this thread:
https://mitsubishiforum.com/forum/sh...highlight=side

If you dont have the chrome side air dam, and have the normal ones than I have no idea why they wont fit.

The same situation here. Just got yesterday the set of new OEM mud guards (part number is MZ380426EX). According to the seller description they are for 2009 XLS.
I am in Canada as well. And front guards do not fit, they seems to be about one inch deeper and longer than necessary. BTW my side air dams do not have any chrome, they are black but look different to those from older models (depicted in installation related thread here in this forum).

L1v3n, any luck? I got mine yesterday Mz3805525EX (Large, Black material) I think yours is "Large, Chrome" based on the manual. I haven't put them on yet for I'm struggling to look for a primer.

Do you know what primer to use? Can I use this one?

Any tips is appreciated.

Thanks

Canadian edition 2009 XLS does not have chrome sill on the side that's why my first attempt failed. I sent front mud guards back and the seller replaced them with ones intended for US ES model. Those fit absolutely properly. I installed them according to instruction provided in 15 minutes without any problems. I bought primer in Canadian Tires as well, just some other brand. It also was called "adhesion promoter", just was twice cheaper. I just paid attention it's clear (not coloured) and good for plastic (besides bunch of other materials). Make sure to cover everything nicely except narrow area of black plastic on the side sill where you will glue mud guard. The sprayed area will fade a lot in couple minutes. Good luck!

Smile Oi!

So I just need to put my mud flaps up for trade for a set of ES ones! Do you still have the Stock number that I could have?

Thanks, Rick

Unfortunately I do not have any part number. I bought mine mud guards on e-bay at rchillmitsubishi. When I found that front ones do not fit I contacted seller, send them pictures of area of my car where mug guards supposed to be installed. It's actually they said me that US version of XLS is different (has chrome air dam) and requested me to send only front guards for replacement. Then I got new front mud guards in the box I used without any additional papers so I do not know what's part number.

So main idea here to be sure the front mud guards you are going to get are NOT for the car WITH additional chrome side sill. That's why rears are always OK
