Default 11 outlander sport

Ok,, did it,,went and picked up an SE in mercury grey
dealer informed me that the sport comes filled with synthetic motor oil
from the factory?? read the owners manual and no mention of it,
only statement that holds true between the service advisor and the book was the oil weight (0-20W) so does anyone know if this is true that it's factory filled with syn...??
Thanks in advance

leo... congratulations on your Mercury Grey (I have the same color). It is filled with 0-20W synthetic from the factory. the owners manual also says to use 0-20W oil.
I have only found 0-20W in synthetic...Mobil... Castrol and others. I have yet to see it in a Dino only or a mix (Dino/synthetic).
Also Mitsubishi has their own version of 0-20W (synthetic) available at the dealer service and parts Dept's, hope this helps.

Congrats on the purchase leo.

You won't see a conventional version of 0W-20. If you do - don't buy it something is wrong. As always you tend to get what you pay for.

There are semi-synthetic versions of 0W-20 out there which end up having a heavy dose of synthetic base stocks to meet the viscosity specs. The problem is they also tend to have a lot of viscosity improvers (VI's) which shear rather quickly. Check out the Bob Is The Oil Guy forums for recommendations.

Stick with a group III synthetic for best results and good value with the OEM oil change intervals. Step up to a Group IV full synthetic if you plan to extend your OCI. Amsoil OE is a very well priced synthetic and it is shipped right to your door.
