Default 15000 Maintenance

Any recommendations for the 15,000 mile maintenance? Dealer wants to charge anywhere from $360 - $560 depending on the services chosen. I don't want to pay this much and don't mind doing the job myself. So I had the oil changed, engine air filter, cabin air filter, and tires rotated. Anything else recommended?

What the... my dealer charges $140 for the 24000km service, that's about 15000 miles.

That includes:
Oil change and filter
lubricating all the hinges
inspecting all fluid levels (inlcuding tranfer case)
inspecting air filter
rotating wheels
maitenance on front and rear brakes
inspecting break lines
inspecting streering components
inspecting CV joint boots.

I wonder what more they want to do, in order to justify $560.

It doesn't say, and I haven't had it done yet, I assume that it just cleaning, andlubricating what ever needs lubricating. Ho! and looking to see if they can make a money on a brake job!

Save your money and buy your selve a new air cleaner filter, cabin filter, and switch to 5w30, if you've been using 5w20, inspect the brakes your self, if you dont know how, just google it "how do I check my brakes" and that should do it, other stuff to look for is how clean your fluids are, which they should be fine at 15000, but you never know. all this should come to about $80+ or - $10 depending on what oil you use and filter. You just save your self about $400, Half the time these "checks" are just a way for the dealer to make and easy buck, any mechanically enclined individualwith a little common sense willbe able to tell when theres something wrong with a specific part or system just by the way it looksand functions. Oh by the way as far as tire rotation, you can do that your self also, just do it in the specific fashion the manual tells you to do it, then forkout $10-$20 and have a mechanic balance and align them, I will emphasise "mechanic" NOT dealer.

*EDIT* Oh also, I'd recommend investing on a 4way wrench for taking off the tires, the emergency one the car brings just completelly blows, specially if you're doing all 4 weels.

How about warranty? is it necessary you get this service done at an authorized center at least, to keep your 10yr powertrain warranty?

NO, just keep all of the receipts of the oil, filters, and any other items you used, to show proof that you performed the maintenance. I keep all of my receipts stapeled to a printed sheet with dates and mileage of oil change, for warranty reasons. But it is verry important to keep all your receipts, otherwise its your word against theirs.
