Default 2005 XLS Outlander

I have the original Yokohama low profile tires on this vehicle, but would like to fit snow tires, not being low profile I was told I need to fit smaller rims. Any suggestions on this would be appreciated.

The originals on the 2005 XLS are 215/55R17. it's up to you there is a lot of selection for that size. So if you intend on keeping the same rims you can do that, but most people go for steel wheels, and if you do that you can drop to a 16 inch rims and put 215/65R16 on them. You'll probably save about 15-20$ on the tire purchase, and after a couple of year you will have fully paid for the steel rims just from that savings in mounting the tire twice a year.
