2007 Outlander wheel bearing repair
Hello all,
I have an 07 Outlander 4wd that needs the front passenger wheel bearing replaced. What type of press is needed to get this done properly? Is it just needed so that its seated properly or is a hub tamer needed so that its done right?
Thanks for any help.

I'll send you a PM
The rear is an assembly, the front of a bearing and separate hub that will need to be pressed on.
Rock auto does not sell a complete front assembly.
What I have done on Galants (they look basically the same) is remove the front hub assembly and take the whole thing to a local muffler shop and have them press the old one apart and press the new one on, then reassemble myself. They usually charge me around $50.

So rock auto has the following:
Wheel Bearing (front) - RockAuto Parts Catalog
Wheel Bearing & Hub Assembly (rear) - RockAuto Parts Catalog
Wheel Hub (front) - RockAuto Parts Catalog
I stand corrected. Good info to have. White, thanks for keeping us honest!

Thanks for all the help so far!!
So I'm working on this now... How do I get the axle shaft disconnected without messing up the shaft end coming through the hub? I have everything disconnected at this point but that.

I was just wondering how you made out separating the shaft from the hub? I have to do the same and I'm sure it is stuck on .
take the axle nut off, turn it 180 and put it back on almost flush with the shaft so the nut sticks out just a bit. Spray the splines with wd40 and go have a beer. Whack that nut. replacing the nut should be cheaper than replacing the cv shaft.
I'm looking to replace my bearing this month.
But for taking the axle shaft out, you don't ever whack the shaft. Instead you disconnect the steering tie rod end, and the A-Arm ball joint down. Then you simply pull the entire hub\brake assembly towards you, the axle comes out on its own.
