Unhappy 2008 2.0 DI-D Heavy Breathing !!!!!!

OK so here goes my first post.
Please be gentle with me.

Now give me a petrol engine and i'll work miracles on it, but diesel !!!!

never owned one until now.

Basically ive just bought a 2008 Outlander Warrior. its got the 2.0 DI-D engine in it (VW ???)

Any way, my daughter noticed it, not me. She said..

"Dad, the cars vaping just like you "

Yes, i'm a reformed smoker, and now i vape using one of those cloud generator units.

Anyhow, every 15 seconds or so, a noise comes from the air vents that sounds just like me taking a big vape inhale !!!

Should i be worried ?

Has anyone heard of this before ?

Is it an easy fix ?

How much is it going to hurt my pocket this time.

Many thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Apart from this little ****le, i absolutely love the car. Just so bloomin expensive for parts, and awkward to work out the little ****les.

Are you by chance running the air conditioner? Had a car that would emit vapors from the vents...dad said it was low on refrigerant...I never did anything with it...but wouldn't hurt to have your levels checked.

Had another suggestion to check other things. Don't use the quick charge refrigerant cans, you need to monitor low and high side.

Many thanks for the reply.
I'm thinking you've put me on the right track there.

I drove it after reading your reply and sure enough, once i turn the AirCon off, it stops the Dart Vader noises.

More investigation required in this direction (Please lord dont let it be the pump!)

Thanks again,
Steve
