Outlander 2010 Alarm Problems
Hello from Slovenia,
I've just purchased 2010 Outlander, Intense +, with Mitsubishi alarm. The alarm has proven as my biggest nightmare yet. Although it was installed by authorized dealer, it doesn't function properly at all.
* If I lock the car right after turning off the engine (e.g. in 5 second time frame), alarm will be instantly triggered when it's activated in 40 seconds after lock.
* Many times it triggers without any obvious reason (maybe sensors are set to sensitive?). This happens regardless to the weather or time (how long the car has been locked). I've noticed that this happens more often if car has been locked with the button at the keyhole and not with remote.
* When the alarm is on, the siren is far too quiet to do it's job properly.
* And after all, if car is equipped with keyless-go, shouldn't it also lock when you walk away with the key in your pocket? It does open when I come into vicinity of the lock, but doesn't lock....
I'd be very thankful for any tip or suggestion, since it's obvious that my dealer doesn't have faintest idea what's going on (all they suggested was to disconnect the siren:LOL).
Cheers,
Bostjan

My alarm went off a couple of times for no apparent reason a little while ago. When I checked I noticed that the switch on the courtesy light above the second row of seats was not quite in one of the switchable positions. I switched it to auto and no problem since.
So I would suggest just check the all switches are correctly set.
