My sunroof started making grinding noises. It pops up fine, but makes grinding noises and won't retract so I took it to the dealer. They said the tracks are cracked and quoted me $1800 for the repair. I want to get a used part and do it myself. Mechanically, it doesn't seem like it would be too hard, but I have never pulled the headliner, so I can't tell how difficult the job will be. Has anyone done it? Any DIY videos out there, or even videos of pulling off the headliner?
