Angry 2009 Outlander windshield wipers stopping occasionally in intermittent mode

Hello,

2009 AWD 4 Cyl. Wipers stops in the middle of stroke in intermittent mode. Works in low and high. Intermittent mode works when you initially turn them on. After 10-20 minutes, they will suddenly stop/shudder in the middle of the windscreen. Can be reset by using the low/high speed mode. Then intermittent mode may work again for a bit. Problem started about a month ago. Changed the blades. Car was out in the rain every once in a while. Know there is a recall for 09 wipers but seem to have trouble getting response from Mitsu India. And the rains are out in full force here. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Clean the circuit board inside the motor? I know the wiper relay is handled by ETACS, so there is no relay that I can access?

Thanks

Also, a question about the forum. My post above does not appear under new posts. Any tips on getting it there?

You need to call Mitsubishi Corp. And get the wiper motor recall fixed

Thanks Serpentor. I have called Mitsubishi and Consumer complaints in India. Mitsubishi India does not even have a support number. The only phone line is a emergency helpline for new vehicles within the first year. I think they only sell the Pajero Sport at this point and are planning to reintroduce Outlander after a five year hiatus. Consumer complaints was interesting. He said that if I bought the vehicle used then they cannot help me.

As far as the wiper motor. Opened it up couple of hours ago with the help from a local mechanic. Greased up the white plastic gear inside the motor and lubed all the linkages. Sealed the gap between the windscreen and the engine compartment with common silicone caulk. Now have to wait for the rain to see if it still has the stop/start/jerk in intermittent.
