Default 2009 SE outlander

Was at my dealer this morning and had a chance to see a 2009 SE Outlander on the lot. There were no body style changes, front or back, nor any headlight, taillight changesfrom the 07-08 models. Here is what I did notice.

1. The engine and transmission on this model was the 2.4L 4 cyl with the CVT.
2. The vehicle had low profile Goodyear Eagletires on it.
3.The plastic area underneath the grille which is black on my ES was painted to look chrome.
4. There was a chrome piece about 2 inches wide added at the bottom of the doors.
5. The roof rack was also painted to look chrome rather than black.
6.Inside, the center shift console piece was chrome rather than the black on myES.
7. Chrome door handles inside and out.
8. Leather trimmed seats. (not sure if standard feature, or an option).
9. Rest of interior/dashboard was same style, color as on my 08 ES.
10.The sticker on this vehicle including destination was $24,325 US Dollars.

A salesman who I talked too mentioned they added rain sensing wipers, but he didn't say if they are standard equipment, or an option.

1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 8 were already standard on the 08 SE. the SE line is basically the XLS with a 4cyl engine.

as for the wipers....i know the 08 ES has speed sensing ones...where if you are at a stop it goes slower and the faster you go the faster the wipers go on the 1st speed.

Thanks for the input Elisha. When I bought my ES, I really didn't pay much attention to the SE or XLS models on the lot, so I wasn't sure what was included on them for the 08 model year. I think the key point here is there were no body, grille, rear, headlight, or tailight changes for the 09 year.

Would
" 4. There was a chrome piece about 2 inches wide added at the bottom of the doors."

be this thing:

If this is what you are talking about... they have added more features of the Japanese model...

The rain sensing wipers is standard in the Japanese model too.

Supposedly this is what the Shift console in the 2009 Outlander looks like with the twin clutch...

Yes, the chrome piece at the bottom of the doorsin the picture is what I saw. Also the chrome colored roof rack and door handles in the picture was also on the SE model. Now as far as the shift console goes, it was chrome instead of black plastic, but as I remember it, it did not have the twin clutch writing on it. But again, maybe it did and I just don't remember it. The model I was looking at the dealers was a 2WD, because it did not have 2WD, 4WD selector that you can see in the picture.

Where did you get your ROAR stuff from?
I am trying to find a store which is not in the UK or Japan (just because their prices are too high...lol)

Just for comparison reasons my 2.4 cvt version named INSTYLE+ in Greece ( and Europe) has as standard all what you mentioned plus sun roof, heated front seats, electric driver seat, electric folding & heated mirrors, auto light sensors, 3rd seat row, fog lamps, MMCS, cooling in uper glove compartment, headlight washers, camera for reverse, tyres are different Bridgstone Dueler HP Sport on 18" 7 radius rims, metalic color, don't think I missing something else.... Now hold on.. the price.. US$ 55,000....(at FX rate 1euro=1.43$) Just to see what we have to pay for cars in EU. Something to comment???

This has been talked about several times. And no Shambala on the SE (Special Edition) trim they do not come with the silver side garnish, but with a totally new side skid plate that is chrome:
