Default 2011 Outlander Sport Wasp Problem!

When I was inspecting my Outlander sport before driving it home from the dealership, I saw there was a mini wasp nest (a bit smaller than a golf ball) in the edge surrounding the back lift gate opening. Then we saw a smaller one in the sill of the backseat. The salesman removed them and said that the bees seem to like the white Outlanders and that this one had been on the outside lot for a while and that was probably why.

I figured it had been in one spot for a while so the wasps were attracted to it but I've owned the car for a few weeks now and I'm seeing more wasps in the spoiler (3 today). They are going in and out of the wiper fluid hole. I drive the car to work and park it and then drive home, normal usage. Is anyone else experiencing this problem and how would I stop it from happening? I was going to tape up the hole and not use the wiper fluid but I think there are gaps on the top of the spoiler on each side where the wasps are going in and out of too.

Go to an exterminator and ask for some wasp powder, then spray the powder in around any openings where you suspect the wasps are going in and out. Sounds to me like there may be another hive inside the spoiler or something. The powder will make sure all the wasps die. If you don't kill the queen the colony will just keep going.

I've had wasp problems in the attic and shed but never in the car lol. The powder always does the trick, the key is to make sure you get it in and around whatever opening they are using to get it and out. Usually works within 24-48 hours. I would definitely NOT tape of any openings untill your sure they are dead. They will find a way out, and probably into the car or relocate into somewhere tougher to get at them like the headliner.
