I don't see a V6 version...or a turbo diesel version for North America, which means it wont be an option for me. Interesting that its being sold in Russia first...this summer:

If you read the press release they only refer to the engines in the European version. I'm guessing the North American version will have the same 2.4L engine (with some upgrades) that they offer now. Unless they reduced weight significantly the 2.0L won't cut it here as the new Outlander is very close to the same size as the current model.
I know they said there will be a hybrid version and that one will probably have the 2.0L along with the electric motors.

I caught this same pic of the 2013 Outlander on the Automotive News website. I will reserve final judgement until I see the final U.S. spec Outlander in person, but I feel this design has lost some of the sporting looks of the current generation. Again, I will have to wait to see it, personally. I look forward to seeing interior pics and finding out whether or not this next generation will have the folding tailgate.

Wow, really glad I got the current shape Outlander, hard to believe given the progression from the old Outlanders to the current great shape that they have ended up with something so damn ugly for the next generation????
Looks like a Ford Edge. Definitely not as eye-catching as the Evo-inspired nose the current Gen has. Hopefully they improved the rear -- anything is better than the same clear lenses it's had for years. Looks like Mitsu is trying to conform to the norm. Oh well, maybe blending in will improve sales. I'm just glad I went with a 2012!
