2014 Mitsubishi Outlander GT
Hello everyone! My 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander GT I have been advised at 77,000 miles that I need the front shocks and struts replaced. Of course I was told that this is a dealer only parts purchase and the place I went to wanted to charge me $2000 to fix them. Has anyone else had theres replaced? What was the cost?

It might currently be a dealer-only part because aftermarket parts may not be in production yet. If Rock Auto doesn't have them (it appears they don't for 2014), this may be the case. There's definitely aftermarket suspension parts for the previous generation Outlander (2007-2012), and I had mine replaced for about $800 front and back; but that's by having it done by a mechanic friend who charges cheap labor. Unless your struts are totally shot and causing alignment, safety or drivability issues, you might wait another 6-12 months to see if some aftermarket parts come up. 77k miles is not that much for shocks and struts. Replacing all four corners is not a cheap job, but $2000 for just the front is a lot.

I have a 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS V6, I had all shocks/Struts front & back, inner tierods and outter tierods replaced at Firestone for $2100. Have you tried stopping into a Firestone or Pepboys with coupons you might get a better deal. Pepboys let's you bring your own parts.

Having the same issue...they are still currently not available anywhere to purchase after market and I am not paying a grand at the dealer....the car-part.com place also doesn't carry them. I have looked everywhere the last two years. I even have to part number for the OEMs which are kyb and I can't even get them from kyb. I can replace them myself there's no way I'm paying 4 G's at the dealer for fronts and backs. That's what they charge here in Canada it's crazy.
