Normally, you pull the motor and tranny as a whole unit, then remove the tranny once out.

not really ,car has 245,000 km on it , just bought it , went to pass a car going 40 km so I step her down when I pulled in the oil light came on
motor looks like it hasn't been maintain but dealer was doing the services
anyway motor is out , left the transmission it , only hard part was the rear exhaust and you have to unbolt the transfer case for the AWD, I didn't take it out just move it back then the motor will move ahead far enough to clear the trans. case

Good Find, I saw a 2010 V6 in the junkyard the other day, and considered it.

have oil leaking out the pass. side axle , where it goes into the transfer case , looks like transmission oil , is there a seal that might have got damaged ?

It is supposed to be gear oil in the transfer case. Did you have to pull the shafts to move the transfer case?

no I didn't remove the shafts , just lossen the mounting bolts and move the case towards the passenger side , that gave me enough room to remove the motor ,
transmission oil is getting into the transfer case some how
