2015 How to remove tail light assembly
Both brake lights are dead. I removed the 2 screws and tried to pry the assembly out.
This broke the assembly so I need a new one.
I don't want to break the other side. How do you get it removed w/o damaging it?
This is a 2015 Outlander (NOT sport) and there are 2 screws available once the hatch is opened.
However, there are these metal prongs that are also holding the assembly to the body.
I can't think of a way to get it out without prying and prying clearly broke the lens on the first one.
Tips?

Sorry to hear that you broke the first one..an expensive lesson learned. In my experience these assemblies are indeed very tight. ..prying them is not a great idea.
You have to grip them quite tightly on both sides and pull STRAIGHT out from the body...they are in there pretty good..but they are designed to pop out from the clips built into the body.
The first time I did this I almost pryed them as well..but finally got them out. Best of Luck.
