Just bought my daughter her first car. A 2015 Outlander sport es awd. Had transmission problems when we bought it and my mechanic confirmed that it needed a new transmission. We already know that these are expensive but we bought the car at a good price and are willing to spend the money.

My question is that on different platforms when you search it says the 2.4 awd sohc and the dohc transmissions don’t interchange.
this seems weird to me and I haven’t been able to confirm or deny that being true. Any help?
